green_man   10 #1 Posted August 13, 2015 - Good news is that Kennedy, JCR and Baxter have all been back in training.  - Matt Done is about 3 months still, Bob Harris is about 4-6 weeks away still, Brayford's knee brace has been removed but he is a long while off, Ryan Flynn is back in training next week.  - Adkins opened the season with only 19 fit players.  - Adkins rubbished the Harlee Dean rumour. He admires the player but hasn't made any contact what so ever.  - Adkins says that he is going to continue to be active in the market. While the window is open he will be looking to sign players.  - He admits the team aren't where he wants them to be, he says we are still a working progress but he wants to get this team promoted this season and he will do everything to make this happen. rossyrooney   12 #3 Posted August 13, 2015 All this silly talk of doom and gloom, if we had three more points then we would be sitting pretty and none of this negative guff would have been spouted.
 Share this content via...

In some ways last weekend could be a blessing... at least it will make people pull there socks up!
 Share this content via...
rossyrooney   12 #5 Posted August 13, 2015 As I no longer attend you lads opinions are important to me as a way of sifting out the bad bits as well as the good bits.  Last week is in the history books, old news, when I referred to negativity I was meaning that the boards were fuller of Uniteds shortcomings, even Wednesday posters were more concerned at Uniteds result and where in Heavens name is all this Alex/BB multiposters coming from.  It would seem that anyone who had a deep knowledge of football and the ability to string together a few sentences is immediately suspected and outed as one ou the other. I certainly do... however I get the feeling he thinks some of the players are not good enough. Wouldn't surprise me if it took until next season to finally get going. He needs his own players. That said, we've played bleeding 90 mins of football, we could have a different outlook after next saturday against chesterfield. Wednesday should know that with the rubbish they've had over the years.
 Share this content via...

green_man   10 #12 Posted August 13, 2015 A win and people will be positive and a early blip, another big loss and the shoes and even socks will be of, may be adkins head !  I haven't seen so much backing for a manager since the Bassett days. More fans want Adkins now than who wanted die hard blades fan Neil Warnock!  At the end of the day we have bagged our "Ideal Candidate", there was no other finer man for the job. If you have a specialist building job then you get a specialist builder in, you don't make do with somebody who can build but hasn't done that type of job before. Adkins is proven to get average teams and turn them into promotion teams.  Lets also remember that Clough has signed a good bit of dead wood. I don't care what any of the Clough backers say, he made some cracking signings but he also made the numbers up with average joe's. Adkins needs to strip this back and get the players out of the negative mould.  We will hit the traps running before you know it and we will be top 2 come the end of the season.
