nikki-red   308 #13 Posted August 11, 2015 I work near Scotland Street so not too far away and can always find a free parking space on one of the back streets, it does mean driving around for a while sometimes tho. There are a few private secure car parks around there that some of my workmates use, I believe theyre £12.50 a week?  Might be worth having a drive round that area and having a look? geared   317 #14 Posted August 11, 2015 I agree - Park and Ride - far less stressful at the beginning and end of your working day. This would by my choice if I didn't work unsocial hours ....... and if I worked in the city centre.  https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zcUbmaTeRsO8.k0fZCC0oZG9c&hl=en  Depending on your location you could also just park for free in a nearby residential area to a tram stop and get the tram in.  It's abit cheaper than the park and ride ticket. Cyclone   10 #15 Posted August 11, 2015 I work at Plusnet which is at the end of Trippet lane/Pinfold street, theres the Campo Lane parking but its touching 4 quid a go.. ---------- Post added 11-08-2015 at 09:58 ----------  To be honest i don't mind walking as i travel a fair distance to work anyways, aslong as i am able to park close to the city center or 10/15 minute walk. im happy to do that but with me being paid a monthly wage, paying £4 a day is a pain to constantly worry about. I'd rather have a pass i can use that will go in the window of my car.  There's parking up towards Summer Street that you could use and pay for on a monthly basis. Or park and ride at Nunnery Square up to City Hall, depends on which way you drive into the city, you could also park and ride at Middlewood if you're coming from the North, or park for free if you're early enough on the residential streets.  ---------- Post added 11-08-2015 at 11:18 ----------  Meadow Street, I meant Meadow Street. AndrewC Â Â 307 #17 Posted August 11, 2015 For those of you who need to park near Bridge Street/Kelham Island, be aware that long-disused Bridge House is currently being demolished (it's been in a fairly dangerous looking state for a while and attracts quite a few ne'er do wells). Â Officially the land is earmarked for quite a large office scheme but since that won't happen for some time, I'd imagine it will join it's neighbours in providing surface car parking. Up until the site got fenced off for demolition, the yard was being used for parking, accessed from the adjoining car park next to Hawleys Tyres. morrisminor   10 #18 Posted August 11, 2015 welcome to the world of driving. for your information, you are likely to find driving into and parking in large cities difficult and expensive. Sheffield is in fact at the lower end of the scale (in terms of parking availability and cost). Leeds city centre parking is many times more expensive than Sheffield. That isnt a snarky post but aimed to challenge your expectations as you explore wider and wider in the car.
 Share this content via...
