Poor migrants from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan

Recommended Posts

Mod Note:

Could we have a little less bickering and accusatory comments please.

I appreciate it's an emotive subject, but personal insults are not called for.

Further instances will be rewarded with 'holidays'

Thanks

Pete

A few more, as compared to Germany etc 4K per year is a poor effort.

Well that lasted long: a day.

Closing of Croatian and Slovenian borders in 3, 2, 1...then it will be off through Romania and Ukraine, or across the Adriatic.

From the link, by the way:

Yesterday, Hungary detained 29 people, including what authorities said is a known terrorist, amid clashes at the border crossing of Roszke with riot police firing water cannon and tear gas.

At least 20 policemen and two children were injured, a Hungarian security official said.

"Police also captured an identified terrorist," Gyorgy Bakondi, a security adviser to Mr Orban, told state television M1.

A government spokesman said the man was "in the database of security services".

The head of Germany's refugee office, which has been criticised for its handling of record numbers of asylum seekers, has resigned, the Interior Ministry said.

...that's reassuring

Actually the UK is in a great position...once the port is secured it can continue paying money to camps and doesn't have to deal with migrant influx....

Posted earlier:.....

If they go the Croatia route then theyll have to get through Slovenia and into Austria where the Alps will be a massive hurdle.

More likely to try to get through Croatia/Hungary border once in which is longer and harder to protect, either that or there will be more boats making the trip to Italy across the Adriatic sea.

Try 10K per year over 5 years...4K is a tokenistic effort and doesn't really help.

Tbh why not just shut immigration and give 2bn per year to Syria. ...If you're just going to do half measures

Many of the migrants are exhausted and low on food and water. ...
