999tigger   10 #50 Posted December 10, 2015 How about a Dioralyte sachet dissolved in cold water a few minutes before bed time?  http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/digestive-health/a6583/dioralyte-rehydration-salts/  Dioralyte has sodium and potassium but no magnesium.  If you dont ask your Dr, then ask the chemist. Be aware of advice from the internet without checking.  A banana or some tonic water i dont have a problem suggesting as you can google and see several articles on the subject.  Also stretching. Dont think ive ever suffered from them becayse I exercise quite a lot and make sure i have a vanana plus some electrolytes if it goes over an hour. I think Diet and exercise is a better alternative than popping a pill.  http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/tc/nighttime-leg-cramps-topic-overview  http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/z8wj2hv  http://www.healthline.com/health/pain-relief/how-to-stop-leg-muscle-cramps#3  http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/aches-and-pains/a2868/leg-cramps/
 Share this content via...
pattricia   575 #51 Posted December 11, 2015 I am surprised that no one has tried an electric plug in heat wrap for leg cramps. My friend has them now and again and bought one of those heat wraps from Argos which she wraps round the cramped area for at least 20 mins at a time. Better still of course is an electric under blanket on your bed. Switch on when the cramps come on.! No side effects either like drugs !!
