Old history books

Recommended Posts

This is not an advert!

I have loads of old books on Sheffield history, mostly paperback of not many pages. Sadly I have to part with them. I have tried advertising locally with no results. I am reluctant to give them to charity shops as I don't think they would sell, mostly only being worth little.

I wonder if anyone can suggest anywhere that might be interested in these books?

(Sample title Historical Highlights of Beighton)

What about the local library, or history society etc

Hi. I'd definitely be interested in them! If you drop me a PM saying roughly how many you've got and what you'd want for them, I'd be happy to come round and have a look. I'm not a book dealer, just someone who's interested in local history.

Thanks Glennis, I will ask around if Metalman isn't interested.

Excellent marketing (from a pro) :P

It wasn't an advert. I simply wanted advice, and did not expect any responses such as Metalman's.

I still have books and have today emailed Rare and Racy to see if they are buying (in view of their uncertain future)

I will also scout around as Glennis suggested.

Only a jest on my part, history and books have always been close to my heart and so I was interested in your thread. :)

Ok, my sense of humour was temporarily lacking!

It's painful to part with my books but I have so many and space is now needed before they completely take me over.
