A sight to behold!

Recommended Posts

The day before yesterday I visited Scotney Castle in Kent which has the ruins of an old castle surrounded by a very large moat in the grounds.

More of a lake than what one usually thinks of as a moat.

I was looking over a wall watching a large shoal of what I think were rudd milling about.

Suddenly this two to three foot torpedo raced into the shoal, the water boiled and the pike? disappeared into the cover of a large aquatic plant and the shoal dispersed.

A few seconds later (no more than 10) the the shoal regrouped and life continued as if nothing had happened.

It was amazing to have seen and the speed at which that pike moved was incredible.

It made my day.

Nature is awesome, davyboy. It's amazing when you witness something like that - and quite a privilege.

I always find it fascinating when a heron swoops down and catches a fish
