Bad_Hair_Day   10 #1 Posted June 24, 2015 Hi,  we're moving house soon so I need to move our fishtank.  What's the best way to do this? There's only one fish left in it, but he's a fairly big goldfish, and the tank is 18"x18 cubed.  Should I put the fish into another container for the journey and empty the tank, or leave him in it, and just take some of the water out so it doesn't splash over the top while we're travelling? The journey should take about 15 minutes.  many thanks
 Share this content via...

mikeyc88 Â Â 10 #3 Posted June 27, 2015 Bag the fish up and knot it. Get a polythene fish bag from anywhere that sells fish. Try and save as much water from the aquarium as possible in a seperate water tight container so conditions are similar when it comes to putting the fish back in. Wouldn't leave it sloshing about in a fish tank, it'll just knock itself silly, especially if its sizeable.
 Share this content via...
Squiggs   11 #4 Posted June 29, 2015 Get some stress coat to add to the bagged water  Also, tanks aren't meant to be moved full of water, the sides hold but the bottom may not - the tank needs emptying
 Share this content via...
