Nominate a main road for resurfacing

Recommended Posts

Whirlowdale Road you mean. Yes it is in shocking state.

Due to be resurfaced next year I believe

I thought the bottom part (near Beauchief hotel) was known as Abbey Lane, coming down from Ecclesall Road South.

Road through Crookes shopping centre all way down to Heavygate

It keeps traffic below 25mph. I daren't drive any faster over that stretch.

I'm dreading that day when Bole Hill Road from the Tinker Lane bus terminus through the woods to Hagg Hill gets resurfaced to get rid of its current artificial traffic calming.

https://goo.gl/maps/4FKiZ

Its single track in places, has little or no foot-way has the allotments, horse riders, walkers and cyclists yet there's always a driver who wants to go faster on it.

It shouldn't even be a main route but its a very popular rat run with commuters.

Id push for it to have quiet lane status.

http://www.cpre.org.uk/resources/transport/roads/item/1867-cpres-guide-to-quiet-lanes

"typically C or unclassified routes, which have been designated by local highway authorities to pay special attention to the needs of walkers, cyclists, horse riders and other vulnerable road users, and to offer protection from speeding traffic. Cars are not banned from Quiet Lanes and the use of Quiet Lanes is shared.

Measures such as lower speed limits and discrete road signs aim to

encourage drivers to slow down and be considerate to more vulnerable

users who can in turn use and enjoy country lanes in greater safety, with

less threat from speeding traffic. "

Have you some evidence as to why we should trust that?

I really like to know where you came by that piece of information.

It appeared to take from the blitz until recently to fix Carlisle street.

probably an exaggeration but you get my point

.

.

You do know what the streets ahead project is right??
