Recommended Posts

I think it is a crazy to have a pedestrian crossing on the Parkway, especially on the 70mph part. I have never seen anyone use it but it is there. See

It's because it's woodlands and part of a walk and is used very frequently by people

I think it is important to remind people of possible dangers out there on the roads. Perhaps some people haven't noticed the crossing. Certainly some people I talk to are unaware of it.

At quiet times of the day it's no more dangerous than crossing any main road.

It's location has a clear view in both directions.

The crossing on Commercial Street near Fitzalan Square is more dangerous when the lights aren't working !

I'd be concerned about the driving ability of anyone who drives along the road and wasn't aware. The fact that it is even there at all on an NSL section of road should, IMO, catch everyone's eye and make them think.

I agree totally. However it has slipped past a few people I know.

Most of the Parkway near town is 50 mph with a 30 mph limit as you approach Park Square roundabout.
