Salsa classes in sheffield

I'm looking for beginners salsa classes in Sheffield, can't seem to find many on the web. Thanks

There are loads in Sheffield.

 

Cubana on Sunday evening. The Polish club on Eccy road (think it's Tuesday or Thursday evening). St Mary's Church, I think on Monday evenings is beginners (on1, their intermediates and advanced is on2). Tuesday evening still on at The Forum on Division street. Thursday evening at the place just off West Street, next to the Society for the Blind. Wednesday evenings at Bloo 88 on West Street. The students probably still have their Saturday afternoon sessions at student union.

I think you'll find the Polish Club on Eccy Road is a trendy new bar and diner, called "The Pointed Dog" or summat like that! The only salsa you'll find in there now is on the burgers.

 

Loads of "Josephineesque" type posers though if you like that sort of thing? They don't dance though - it would mess their hair up too much.

There's tons going on in Sheffield, just a bit difficult to find on google.

 

Best thing is to join the group Sheffield Salsa Club on Facebook. All the teachers/event organisers post there.

 

I teach Salsa at Revolucion de Cuba on Mappin Street on Thursday's as part of their Salsa Social every week (8pm, £1 open class) but there are plenty of other nights as well:

 

Bloo 88 on Wed

Rev de Cuba on Thurs

Cubanas Saturday afternoon

Cubanas Sunday eve

the one at polish club is a bit boring, more like line dancing? dont know whether its the 1 on 1 style or what?

i hear cuban or casino salsa is more fun.

went a few times btw, it could just be me, but by all times check it out and find out whats right for you.

If you are into jive, thats fun and fast and a little easier to learn - woodseats or walkley WMC do good classes.

The Mambo Collective are long established (14 years) Salsa Classes based at St Mary's Church, Bramall Lane.
