Food bank donations locally (S5)

Recommended Posts

A family member has a cupboard FULL of tinned food (all in date) that are no longer required. Would anyone know whether local food banks take donations or do they get their stock elsewhere? I've tried to ring a local one but had to leave a voicemail. I could do with knowing asap as there's nowhere to store the tins. Or does anyone know of anywhere similar who take donations? It would be a real shame to have to take to the tip.

I know some supermarkets have a bin in them for donations like this.

According to the Trussell Trust website there is one at Burngreave and one at Hillsborough. Gilpin Street at Hillsborough and Carlisle Street at Burngreave.

I hope that's of use to you.

Try asking in your local church(es), they might be able to give you more information.
