Cheap Straw wanted

Does anybody know where I can get some cheap bales of straw from for my allotment? I asked at heeley farm but they told that it would be £15 per bale, which seems a bit steep to me.

Ask a farmer if you want them cheap. You can look them up on line or in Yellow pages etc. if you don't know of any local farms.

 

...its getting nearer harvest time now so straw will be more in demand, depending on how much they had anyway.

Starbuck farm at Beighton does them £3 a bale I think, thats where I get my guinea pig hay from

Totley hall farm straw is around £6 a bale and is dust free nice and clean

Yes i go there Straw is £4 hay is £3

know its a far way out but depends on how many you need we buy our straw for allotment at a little farm near godfreys garden centre at s26 just off the motorway its £2.50 a bale they also sell barley seed and wheat seed and oats in 20kg bags for £5.75 its a great little farm pm me if you want directions we go once a month
