Does anyone know who will take my old sofa away please?

If it's in good condition with a fire label the British Heat Foundation will collect otherwise we can collect for £45 (minimum charge). Full details on the website

The council will take it away for less than £20, don't throw money away to private companies, some of whom will probably end up flytipping it.

£45 to get rid of a sofa. :o

 

Its free to take em into the council dump it sites , just park the van outside and drag it in.

The OP doesn't have a van from the sounds of it. My suggestion is less than half the price than the one preceeding it ;)

forgot the shops name, sure someone might email it to you

It's £19.50 for the council to collect the rubbish, although it's free for some and reduced for others.

Council house tenants* or tenants of Great Places**, ACIS*** and Sanctuary there is no charge:

 

*Council housing tenants are limited to 1 free collection of up to 12 items in any 12 month period.

**Only Great Places tenants who have lived in their property since Stock Transfer in April 2007 are eligible for 1 free collection per year.

***Tenants of ACIS are limited to 1 free collection of up to 9 items.

 

 

The charges are reduced if you receive income support, housing benefit, pension credit or job seekers allowance.
