hodgepig66 Â Â 10 #1 Posted May 9, 2015 Which are the decent antique shops to visit in Sheffield. Â I'm looking for a writing bureau that is still it's original wood , and not been painted to look shabby chic. Â Been to a few places in Derbyshire but not found what i'm looking for, any ideas would be appreciated.
 Share this content via...

hodgepig66 Â Â 10 #5 Posted May 9, 2015 Period, style? Â My fella likes the traditional styles, where you pull down the top part of the bureau down and use it to write on. Â So not the bigger units where there is a gap for you to put a chair under they are to big. Â ---------- Post added 09-05-2015 at 18:48 ---------- Â Thank you for the replies... Â Where abouts is the antiques quarter i've never heard of it.
 Share this content via...

Nagel   10 #8 Posted May 10, 2015 There's only one real antique shop in Sheffield which is LAPADA registered and that's Salt's on Barmouth Road.  Otherwise go to the Rutland Antique Centre in Bakewell which has great selection of stock, but at a price. Last time I was there a couple of weeks ago one dealer had a fabulous Arts&Crafts writing bureau, all in original condition.
