Venture studio closed

Just driven up Woodseats for the first time in ages and see Venture Studio has closed. Not seen anything on here about it, when did it go? Not too surprised, they were well overpriced.

I've never been a fan of Ventures business model, it looks like a few photo business are currently being lost ASG premises is up for sale in S6, I saw the for sale sign last week and 1st choice in chapel town I've heard is up for sale.

 

Hopefully they'll get someone that might take over the camera mantel, but who knows, it seems only a few independent studio photographers, that can withstand the running costs associated with it running a photography business and more and more people use the franchises thinking its a cheap deal.

 

All you ever see these days is groupon and voucher deals for anything like £10, £12, £25 which doesn't add up as there has to be some hard sell attached to it to make the profits these franchises make.

 

I'll not be mourning any Venture closers.

The business model as been going on for decades. My mother used a door to door photographer in the early 70's for a portrait of me as a child.

 

When the print was delivered, she got the hard sell for extra prints at different sizes.
