TORONTONY Â Â 10 #16 Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) cheese and bee hive sauce (hp was a luxury} cucumber soaked in vinegar, chips and runny egg on a balm cake,, banana,, crisps, condensed milk. all the above with tons of butter, this was just on a Monday, lol, no wonder I was 18 stone at 18 years old. Scottish pal of mine used to put a whole scotch pie (hot) between 2 slices of bread and butter and eat it as a sandwich, he also ate porridge sandwiches too. TORONTONY Â Â 10 #24 Posted May 4, 2015 Out of curiosity, what was Bee Hive sauce and are Scotch pies like Scotch eeggs? Â I think I got mixed up with the brown sauce name, I know we always had any kind but HP. there was Tiger, Dad's and something else, not sure about the bee hive bit now. Scotch pie is nothing like a scotch egg, it is a regular pie with sausage meat in it.. a scotch egg is hard boiled egg shrouded in sausage meat and breadcrums.
