What is Worksop famous for?

Recommended Posts

Doing some research for a project, all I can conjure up is Lee Westwood the golfer.

Anyone else? Rather hear from some locals than Wikipedia :hihi:

Include anything well known, building, celebrity, companies etc..

I think they held the Ryder Cup at Lindrick back in the 1950's and I'm pretty certain Nottinghamshire used to play county cricket there.

Other than that - well, it's near Clumber Park......

Former England manager Graham Taylor was from there, so was former Sheffield United/ Leeds striker Mick Jones and I think Nottinghamshire used to play cricket-now and again-at Retford

IIRC Plusnet started life as Force 9 in Worksop. However, check it out. Wikipedia refers to the company being founded in Sheffield but it was F9 initially.

Wasn't Werbenick Canadian?

You missed women in leggins pushing a pram.
