Recommended Posts

Give me a shout when you want to buy one, and have a facebook account. There is a forum on there, and there are always PHVs for sale or rent.

Yes you can. You have to be licensed to drive it though.

Thanks Ash i will get in touch after christmas

Ive had the license for 18 months but just haven't used it

Cheers

Been using the City Taxi smartphone app recently. Just as good as UBER and can always get one (unlike UBER). Had great service from them recently

I wouldn't bother to be honest.

I've made a loss the last 3 weeks, back today and 4th job someone thrown up all over my back seats, so another night lost.

Is anyone else finding the taxi service to Crookes very poor? There are 2-3 minute waits to book a taxi and when you get through there is s 45 minute wait. We never had problems on this scale with Eagle or Mercury.

Is it just Crookes they are saying there are no taxis in the area?

Is there an alternative taxi company?

Will Uber be any better?

Do taxis run xmas day? I'm staying in Sheffield a few days and may need one to get from family to a hotel. Cheers.

Yep taxis will be working.

Usually it's just normal fare plus £2 which, IMO is good value.

I've started using that a bit more of late. It's pretty good IMO.

I like the GPS "track your cab" function which seems to work pretty well. Also the ability to add a note to the driver, in case I'm somewhere that might be a bit awkward to find.

Not used Uber at all yet, although I should probably give them a try at some point.

In case people don't know. It's fare + half this year for City.

I wonder why some of their cabs had fare + half signs in then this year.
