Oliver Coppard to win sheffield hallam?

Recommended Posts

For people who think Nick Clegg’s promises on the NHS and mental health are worth listening to, look at the review here of the NHS and mental health services under the coalition and the funding links to the LibDems from private healthcare

And looking at the coalition and their Conservative partners, the fact that Lynton Crosby, who is responsible for their election campaign strategy is so heavily involved in promoting private healthcare and sees insufficient government funding as an opportunity should ring warning bells!

“A strategy paper, drawn up by Mr Crosby’s firm CTF Partners and seen by The Independent, proposed targeting key government figures, including the Prime Minister, to enhance the “size, acceptability and profitability of the private healthcare market”. It also stated that “insufficient public funds” were a strategic “opportunity” for private healthcare firms. It added the campaign’s long-term strategy should be “achieving decision-maker recognition that health investment in the UK can only grow by expanding the role and contribution made by the private sector”. “

A vote for Nick Clegg is a vote for the Conservatives-either in coalition or independently

Ashcroft's polls are deliberately biased towards Labour. The whole point of them is to mobilise tories and liberals into turning out.

I don't like Coppard. I think it's that city boy geezery thing he's got going on that rubs me the wrong way.

Clegg wont get ousted he has said so lol

Based on his and his party's stance on tuition fees before the election, support from Nick Clegg for mental health services is like a kiss of death!

It was the Tories who were spreading the story that UKIP were planning to private the NHS!

It was Labour who said UKIP would charge you for seeing your GP (in spite of a Labour peer advocating charging to go to A&E!).

The truth WILL come out!

If nothing else the LibDems are creating work for printers! I've lost count of how many pieces of literature we've received. Two separate leaflet drops today alone.

It's insulting intelligence. The electorate has worked it out by now that if we want to stop Labour we should vote LibDem in Hallam. Not a strong positive, but we get the message. How many more times do we need to be told? If this thread is anything to go by, short of an earthquake, all our minds are made up by now.

Latest polls have Clegg 7 points ahead. Tory vote switching to LD to keep Labour out thankfully

Possibly an outlier I've not seen an ICM poll of Hallam before, scores on the doors:

Clegg (LD): 42%

Coppard (LAB): 35%

Walker (CON): 12%

Guardian

So much tactical voting from the Tories, Clegg might as well be wearing a blue rosette.

I attended a meeting organised by the People's Assembly a month ago and Coppard appeared to be a Labour 'Yes' man.

He toed Labour's line and came across as boring with no passion or drive.

The TUSC and Communist Party candidates were much more impressive.

Personally, I don't think Coppard wants to win........or thinks he will.

Considering the large scale tactical voting in 2010 in an attempt to vote LibDem and get a Labour government. I'm sensing a lot of sour grapes this time around.
