Are Hallam Tory supporters stuck between a rock and a hard place? With Clegg backing Alexander's leak of Tory welfare cuts, he has certainly annoyed Cameron. Cameron is beginning to insist he will only govern with people committed to an in/out EU referendum. Could Clegg be unprincipled enough to back this? Or is he seriously contemplating the previously unthinkable - a Lib Lab Coalition? Who to vote for - Vote for Clegg and maybe get Miliband or vote for Tory Ian Walker and maybe get Oliver Coppard? Quite a dilemma - glad I am a Labour voter.

Clegg would be prepared for either a Lab-Libdem or a Con-Libdem coalition, as evidenced by his "give the Conservatives a heart, give Labour a brain" speech. The same applied after the 2010 election. Labour and the Libdems were not able to come to an accommodation, the Conservatives and the Libdems were. It's never been unthinkable. What gave you that idea?

It is good to see that you are starting to move on from the tosh you were spouting before that the Lib Dems would not work with Labour, but you still have some progress to make. The Lib Dems are prepared to work with Labour, it has been stated by Clegg that they would give a Labour government a brain (he may want to extend that offer to their supporters, so stay in line).

They made up their own story and plastered on here as fact.

Voting Lib-Dem is " Giving Labour a Brain" ? More like voting to give the public a complete turn off from politics! Milliband is far more principled than Clegg and Cameron.

Considering the two words (hell yes) which seem to have been the high point of his campaign, were the culmination of him describing how he could stand up to Putin, by rewriting history to suggest that he voted against intervening in Syria in order to avoid another Iraq, rather than because he realised it would work better politically with his backbenchers of he changed his mind, I would say that he is far away the least principled.

Milliband boasted of how he stood up to Murdoch.

Murdoch as quick as a flash tweeted that Milliband had only ever met him for 2 minutes, during which Milliband lavished him with praise.

Hardly stated - suggested maybe, spouted definitely, but the other side to any arrangement like that would be that labour would give Clegg a heart with some morals and integrity.

How many Lib Dem votes are tactical? They could easily come out with a lower percentage of the vote.

Given there are more Conservative/Labour marginal constituencies than LibDem/Others ones there are likely to be more LibDem supporters voting tactically for other parties than the other way round.

When you add to that the fact that voters of parties who won't get in to safe seats are less likely to vote and that there are about twice as many safe seats were the LibDems won't get in as for Labour or the Conservatives, that would be a further boost to the LibDems under PR.

Gonads. If Miliband gets in he'll be the first person in thirty odd years who owes nothing to that tosser Murdoch. That's why I'm voting Labour, Ed even mentioned the the S word yesterday!

Indeed, he owes it all to the unions. And they're going to abandon him shortly, especially if he actually does keep his word and refuse to make a deal with the SNP.

It's going to be interesting, if he sticks to the roots of the Labour Party I think it'll be a good thing. He's showing signs of parting company with the free market ideological madness that has ruled and ruined us since 1979.

Hardly stated - suggested maybe

Clegg was on the TV and in the press with the statement - the Lib Dems would give a heart to the Conservatives and a brain to the Labour party.

This can't be disputed, it happened and has gone on record.
