Have you ever tried to change your name?

Did you see the article about Gino D'acampo? He has recently legally changed his name to add the new middle name of 'Sheffield'

I just wondered have ever tried to get people to call you something else, maybe because you don't really like your name?

I changed my name before I got married as a lateral thinking solution to my (now ex) husband buying the tickets for our honeymoon in my married name with insufficient time from when he could give notice to marry to a registrar to get a passport in my married name. Change my surname legally and hey presto, I could get a passport in my married name for a lot less than all of the admin costs of reorganising a whole honeymoon.

 

Since divorcing I've legally changed it back too.
