Unlike a lot of American shows, it stayed good right till the end of the last season, and the last episode was the best one, one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen. Some people dismissed it as "just another police procedural" which is certainly wasn't and others compared unfavourably with The Wire which was unfair as they were aimed at different audiences.
