One of my colleagues at work eats very loudly & it drives me mad!!! It's not the crunching noise of eating crisps, it's the chewing and smacking of lips while he's eating that infuriates me.

I'm not normally an irritable person, but it really ****** me off!

Does anyone else fly off the handle by hearing certain noises?

My other half has this affliction!

Glad to see he's not a weirdo on his own :hihi:

It is pretty minging, not pleasant to listen to.

but if you find yourself grinding teeth and seething with rage you've probably got some underlying stress causing that.

That exact same noise riles me too. Also snoring and people i don't know whistling. I have no explaination for that last one - if it's someone i know & like i can tolerate it. If it's a complete stranger (ie at work or in a store) it drives me potty to the extent that i will have to leave the scene of the crime! Or maybe it's just tuneless whistling that drives me potty.

Get some headphones and listen to music (if poss). When you sit next to anyone for long enough you'll discover an annoying habit that'll distract you. The music can drown it out and allow you to concentrate on work.

By far the worst thing I've experienced in an office is having local commercial radio on. The same adverts played several times an hour made me apoplectic with rage, that and the utter dross music.

Look up misophonia.

Babies that constantly scream. Doesn't make me go into a rage but I do tend to get away as quickly as is possible..like finger nails down a chalkboard.

Kids for me too ... shame it's not politically correct to kick 'em. The South African accent (Africaans) gets my goat too. It's not difficult to speak properly.
