Recommended Posts

You seem to think that there's some difference between an act of parliament and a law. You don't also believe in the "freeman on the land" nonsense do you?

That's the problem with democracy...

if the majority of people voted to lower the age of consent to 10, would it be right?

Benevolent dictatorship is the way forward. that's how I run my businesses and any committee or board that I chair

Tell us what businesses you own and chair? We might get some feedback from the lucky people that benefit from your benevolence.

Erm nope. Why ?

Mine was a tongue in cheek poke at democracy - it is not perfect, but it is the least bad way of going about governance.

Didn't you know this? that is why you will here in a court something like "contrary to the road traffic act bla bla bla" (act of Paliment) and contrary to common law (criminal law).

You will never go before the crown court for an act as these are held in a commercial court (A magistrate court) a sort of mixture between the county court and privet prosecutions held by the CPS (usualy criminal) and Councils (privet as they are a limited company)

You can hire the court yourself if you have the cash and prosicute who ever you like

However a magistrate can not operate in a commercial capacity if under oath and should only hear arguments put before the court. a referee if you will.

A magistrate can however imprison someone if they surrender, create joinder or give consent to the court.

And no i'm not a freeman you don't have to be a "freeman" to know your rights

No Harm

No Loss (including fraud)

No injury

No beach of the peace

Stick to those principals and you will never be a criminal. everything else is just an act of parliament. a collar around the neck to keep people under control and in servitude.

But hay your as free as you think you are right? oh and for a crime to be committed, there has to be an injured party.

At end of day refusing anyone the right to vote is bad. I believe in a compulsory voting system, where if you don't vote if you get a fine. This would provide a truer reference to democracy to than the current model provides.

No it wouldn't. Voting for the sake of it is just the same as not voting at all. In any democracy you alwyas have the right to abstain.

I know!

I thought buying ones votes and restricting voting to those who can pay to vote was dealt with unequivocally when universal suffrage came in?

I mean, we *could* go back to the days of the "Rotten Boroughs" .....

We could also go back to the days of women at the sink dragging up kids relying on the husband to bring in the dough, while were at remove their right to vote. Wouldn't be long before we had drinking wells for Blacks and segregated transport. Removing the right to vote to a certain demographic is dangerous. What the hell did 46 million people die for in the last century, fun?

It works in Australia, but there should be a none of the above option.
