Did anyone see this, thought someone might have posted about it. I was coming down from childrens/university. There were police stopping traffic, allowing so much through, there were a few cars from what I could see and someone one the floor. Hope all involved are ok. That roundabout is so dangerous sometimes, I get cut up regularly on there.

It seems that both motorists and pedestrians have a death wish when it comes to this roundabout.

I use it daily and there are near misses most days.

Someone had been knocked off of a small motorbike as far as I could make out but there seemed to be a couple of cars involved unless they had just stopped in the middle of the road to protect the guy on the floor.

It is a bad one theres no denying it but what can yu do other than take extra care? Having said that even if you are uber careful theres always the chance some idiot with a death wish will cause an accident. That roundabout would be better if the traffic lights were removed and the crossing move away a bit from the exits. Who ever decided that placing crossings right on the entry exit of a roundabout was a good idea is a moron of epic proportions.

The crossings are pretty daft; they cause traffic to regularly build up on the roundabout when its busy and also seem to encourage pedestrians to dash across when they think there's an opening for them.

I saw this last night as well. there seemed to be 1 car which was smashed up and another 3 parked on the inside of the roundabout. I saw the man in the road I thought maybe he was with the highway maintenance as there was a van parked up and about 10 other maintenance men stood by the man on the floor.

3 issues with this roundabout. 1) People don't follow the lane markings so you get cut up. 2) Pedestrians crossings too close to the exits (especially Western Bank side). 3) The underpass is trams only.

Obviously if people want to be morons and cut you up there's nothing much the council can do about it, but that underpass should be converted so that through traffic can use it (which I believe was actually the original plan). This would mean that all the traffic wanting to continue on the Ring Road would be taken away from the roundabout, making traffic flows lighter. The pedestrian crossings also need to be moved further away from the exits so that traffic doesn't back up onto the roundabout, which is extremely dangerous. But as we know, anything which might make motorists' lives easier is immediately thrown on the rubbish pile by our council

I have to agree about those crossings, bloody silly idea putting them there, I know people have to cross the road but is there no alternatives? I get cut up just about everyday, the other day it was a lorry, you really have to be careful and watch out for idiots!

I cant see why they cant move the crossing 100yrds down the road so at least they arent right on top of the roundabout.
