CCTV suggestion

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We are looking at installing some CCTV to keep a record of when our lovely neighbour breaks into our garden. We only need one or two cameras and of course something to record. Can anyone recommend a company who will install it for a reasonable price?

Thanks.

Good Morning,

CCTV systems are pretty easy to install yourself especially the models that are wireless from your WiFi. It would probably involve a basic knowledge of DIY, a ladder and a drill.

Ebay stock a wide range.

You can also install 'Decoy CCTV' which will save you a fortune and work very well as a deterrent.

How is a decoy camera going to do what they asked? The op wants to record.

Thank you.

I wish we could do with the decoy one, but we need some hard evidence as she claims that she's done nothing each time and makes up false allegations about us.

This is the way to go. I would just ad, try to get decent quality cameras for picture quality/clarity. If you suspect after dark "activity", get cameras with infra red capability.

Something like this will do the job. But its always down to how much money you want to spend.

ADT start prices at about £599

Thanks guys.

I don't think it's happening at night, I just want an eye kept when we're both at work, or when she thinks we're not in. One such incident I was in the bath, ignored the doorbell of course and then heard her crashing over the fence. Unfortunately wasn't quick enough to catch red handed.

Thanks for the input. Was just giving the OP some ideas.

We're not actually recommending they buy any particular model or with any company. Just showing there can be more cost effective ways of finding a solution.

If you wish to use as evidence I believe you need to have warning signs on your property or the police will not use it

Also be carefull not to have them filming over your boundary without auth .

When setting up make sure the date and time is set correct otherwise not be able to use as evidence for police

Happy to put up and set up for you if you wish pm me
