Reading The Star today Richard Caborn wants as many sports as possible to be involved with the Olympic Legacy project, but only if they bring the money.

 

For years and years we have seen an obsession in this city with Rugby League and Basketball. The Eagles get a fat wad of council money each year, along with Montgomery Leisure Service (or whatever their name is now) who manage The Sharks.

 

There was a poor guy in the meeting wanting an indoor bowls centre, but of course they have no money.

 

Does anyone know why this Council have such an obsession with Rugby League and Basketball?
