cavvy Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Think taxi drivers should have a cpc licence as they carry paying passengers would cut down on the number of them on the road as most wouldnt get it . They do U turns in front of you Illegal right or left turns Stop where they want Using mobiles phones etc
Vegas1 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 And once some get through the test, guess what? They will then start to do U turns in front of you, Illegal right or left turns, Stop where they want, Use mobiles phones etc. Do you follow everything you had to learn for your standard driving test? I certainly dont look in my mirrors every few seconds, yes it's falling into bad habits but everyone does it.
cavvy Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Not bad habits its ignorance with them they dont care about other road users as long they get to do what they want
GerryBooth Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) What is a CPC License? Taxi drivers do get caught. Usually a telling off though. You need to be careful dishing out the law if you know what I mean? There was a mini protest outside West Bar police station at least ten years ago as I remember. I have done all of the above. Going through a red light at 3am and only me on the road got me 3 points. Not done it since. Illegal turns, telling off. Tailgating, a big telling off and lucky to get away with it. No mot, fine. Speed camera 3 points and a fine (Halifax Road). There is trouble brewing down at Midland station with that long queue going up the road. Edited March 11, 2015 by GerryBooth

Vague_Boy Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 would cut down on the number of them on the road Since there's clearly a demand for them, I'm not sure how that would help, particularly with regard to the local economy. Each taxi driver is a self-employed businessman, earning a living, paying tax etc. With thinking like that, maybe you should join Ed Ball's economic team. You'd fit right in.

They do U turns in front of you Illegal right or left turns Stop where they want Using mobiles phones etc I think you should need a special licence too. Because I see non-taxi drivers do the very things mentioned above, each and every day. And using your logic, if one is guilty, they all are. Therefore you are obviously the same as the bar-steward who cut me up this morning almost causing a crash.

My Bold Once they start giving a numbered receipt to every customer, i will be a little more inclined to believe they pay tax.
Mecky Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I think some of them should have a driving licence full stop
