willman Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Is it possible to enter details of self employed income/expenditure before April 4th (or whatever the date is) to get an idea of any tax liability or rebate. I was hoping the HMRC site would allow figures to be entered and saved ready to submit in April, but i can't seem to find out where.
taxman Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 There is a tax checker on the HMRC site but bizarrely it specifically excludes the self-employed. ---------- Post added 05-03-2015 at 17:05 ---------- "5. Check you're paying the right amount To find out if you’re paying the right amount of Income Tax, most people can use HM Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC’s) tax checker. If you can’t use the checker (eg you’re self-employed), you can check you’ve paid the right tax by contacting HMRC or by getting help from an accountant." Not very helpful.
willman Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 I did find a little section which tells you the best accounting method especially for fuel which was a good start, but i guess they'll have to wait until April to check everything else.
