majid179 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 In the fifties, my father used to attend an ex servicemens organisation meeting on a regular basis in the 'Royal Pub' in Woodhouse. He used to wear on his coat lapel a pin. It was a small diamond shape, with a letter S on a blue background. What did it signify? I haven't seen one since.
fatrajah Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 My Dad used to attend the Fellowship of Services (FOS) meetings at the "Big Tree" pub at Woodseats in the 1960s. He too used to wear the same sort of badge. I may still have it in his belongings. However, I don't know what the "S" stood for.
ukdobby Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Father in law had one,he used to go to the S club next to the cannon hall pub.
stpetre Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Father in law had one,he used to go to the S club next to the cannon hall pub. I understand the 'S' stood for 'Serviceman' those that had served in H.M.Forces and not necessarily during war time. My brother had one and also attended the fellowship at Firvale , he was in the Royal Navy in the fifties.
cat631 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 http://www.thefellowshipoftheservices.co.uk Is this the badge? I remember one of my school teachers wearing it.

harvey19 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Brilliant response all of you. Does anyone know where i could get one? Try the head office in Rotherham. The address is in the link an above posts. I was a member of the Fellowship when I first came out of the army and can honestly say it was an organisation which embraced all ex servicemen and cared for the welfare of its fellow members. I think membership has reduced considerably nowadays due to many factors.
Highnote Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Have a look at the website The Fellowship of the Services it's all on there
