Earnings back to pre crash levels

The details aren't so clear though are they. The over 60s are better off, the 20 - 35 still below pre-crash levels...

Not exactly a balanced recovery.

 

I thought a lot of over 60s relied on return from building society savings. They aren't exactly booming at 0.5% return.

You are absolutely right, people who have saved up all their lives looking to ensure they are independent when they retire.

 

Its what happens when you et the lunatics run the asylum as we did when we let the Labour party govern the country for 13 years.

I notice interest rates have actually gone even further down after 5 years under the Tories...

I think you will find that the interest rates are the same as when they came in. You cannot stimulate a moribund economy by increasing interest rates.
