I agree that Uncle Stuart is doing and has done an excellent job. However, if you were a multi million pound owner with money, to a certain degree no object, would you stick with someone that no one has ever heard of outside St. Mary's, Villa Park and Hillsborough or would you try to employ the best around? (I'm not including Avram Grant in that by the way).

There is no place for sentiment at all. It's a case of, 'Thanks and goodbye Stuart'.

If Stuart Gray is still manager come August I will go and watch one match at Bramall Lane next season!!!

I really could not disagree with you more on this one something. So what that others haven't heard of him? How did other managers build up their reputation? Stuart has built us from zip. Strengthened our defence now working on attack too. How bloomin' unfair to call for his head because he isn't famous!!

We should be proud of him and take it as a feather in our cap that we had him in the first place to do what he has done for us!

Going out for lunch and a wee dram to calm down.

SAVE SG! :hihi:

Not just because he isn't famous! It's to do with, like someone else said in another thread, about attracting players and raising the profile of the club. As well as the new owners wanting the best driver for their shiny, new train set. Casey Jones or no one for me!

Why settle for Skegvegas when you can have Monte Carlo or bust?

Have you seen what happened to Portsmouth when they chose Monte Carlo or bust?

Exactly.

It's not what I think SHOULD happen but what I'm guessing the tinned fish brigade will do.

Neah, it is a rubbish argument this. I have said it before and will say it again, all that makes a player decide to go to a club is whether the pay is good enough and the club plays at a level where they want to be.

If Wednesday pulled Ferguson out of retirement they still wouldn't be able to sign Ronaldo, no matter how much money they offered. A player in Sweden looking at fulfilling their dream of playing in England will happily come to Wednesday, a club with history, a massive ground and plenty of scope to make it into the holy grail that is Premier League due to the financial backing. They couldn't care less about the manager. Managers are fodder these days anyway.

What makes you think money is no object? There are still lots of unanswered questions regarding finance. Perhaps we'll be a bit clearer tomorrow but don't expect any 'Think Liverpool rather than Manchester City' type statements.
