Hi folks, I have inherited some aging Macbooks that need new batteries.

I have a Late 2008 15" MacBook Pro, and a 2007 17" MacBook Pro, both Core 2 Duo.

Apple don't sell the batteries anymore so I'm asking if anybody local does.

Thank you

It's pretty unlikely to be honest - carrying stock for each old model of Macbook, just in case someone wants to buy one doesn't sound all that good a business plan.

Your best bet is to get one off eBay, although they are likely be lower capacity than the original spec and therefore not last as long between charges. I got one for a similar age MBP; it was cheap and it's worked fine.

Have you been to the Apple Store in Meadowhell to ask?

They were the first place I tried! Unfortunately, Apple seem happier to sell customers a brand new MacBook instead of sourcing parts for an old one :|

Yeah, it is one of their biggest flaws :(

Not true, the Meadowhall shop spent a good hour helping me get my 8 year old Macbook [bought from ebay] set up ,the only thing that they sold me was a updated system costing £20.

And! I did not have to buy that if I did not want to[ although I am glad I did].

The service was free.
