Ha3el Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 We're about to complete on a house purchase soon but the house has been empty for at least 2yrs (that i know of). Is there a way to find out who currently supplies or did supply the gas and electricity in order to get these put on or changed? Also I understand we'd need the water system disinfectant flushed to make safe for legionella risks after being out of use for so long. Is this a simple process and does anyone have recommendations? - are there people who can do both this and a gas safety check, see if the boiler works etc all at the same time. currently we've no idea if anything works so wonder which order to do it in otherwise TIA
poppet2 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Try this website. http://www.ukpower.co.uk/who-supplies-my-gas-and-electricity
Bestlad Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Regarding legionella, read http://www.arla.co.uk/news/april-2014/health-and-safety-executive-issue-new-legionnaires-disease-guidance.aspx Look on http://www.uswitch.com or something similar for your current provider or look at the post in the house from utility companies.
mafya Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Look through any unopened mail, you may find a letter or Bill from the company that supplied the property.
