There will be a partial (though not unspectacular) eclipse of the sun, due to happen on 20th March 2015.

I'll be donning my welding goggles to witness it. Assuming it's a sunny morning, it 'will' make the sky go quite dark as the moon crosses over the path of the sun, and obscures it for a while.

I've read that welding goggles do not give enough protection - http://astronomynow.com/2015/03/15/how-to-see-the-solar-eclipse-safely/

There is also going to be a blood moon on the 4th April. I thought this eclipse on Friday was going to be a 90% eclipse, for people who don t know about it, they will think the worlds going to come to an end! as it should go fairly dark at 8.30 in the morning. The last one was in 1999 and that was quite good. Hope the schools will grab the opportunity to try and teach the kids about it.

Sadly I don't think the weather is going to be any help this week....I think it's predicted to be a bit cloudy all week....:(
