Russia keep coming into U.K air space ??

Recommended Posts

The worrying thing about Russia's incursion is that they are flying around some very busy airspace with their transponders switched off. There is a potential for a tragic accident.

Thank you for that thought, the wife and I are flying out to Tenerife for a week tomorrow morning. :(

You'll be okay mate, don't worry :) Just so long as you're not flying Aeroflot with a Russian pilot in the cockpit

Should the terrible misfortune occur may I offer you some advice?

When setting out to invade Moscow in your mission of revenge try to time it so you don't arrive there just as winter sets in, it gets parky and can interfere with your plans.

Fag a Ballagh!

The difference is that Putin wants to permanently annex the parts of eastern Europe that were once enslaved by the Soviet Union.

America and it's allies may have involved themselves militarily in different parts of the world but there was no intention to permanently occupy those parts. You cannot blame America or it's allies for what's happening in the middle east at present. Sectarian warfare is the problem in Libya, Syria and the Yemen.

In retrospect it's probably better that these countries should be ruled by the likes of Khadaffi , Saddam and Assad. The mistake made by the west was that they took it upon themselves in the past two decades to concern themselves with the atrocities that Khadaffi and Saddam were committing against their own people. Obviously that good intention has now backfired.

If ISIS prevail then maybe a mutual understanding between them and the west could be reached. They leave us alone and in return they can carry on with their beheadings and burnings.

The end result would be that there would be two worlds in one, the democratic western world and the eastern carbon copy medieval type world that existed in Europe 700 years ago

Oh really so why does the US have more military bases around the world than any other country. The current situation in Libya is a direct result of NATO intervention by way of bombing Libya. The current situation in Syria is also a consequence of America backing of the rebels as well as stooge puppet allies in the Middle East also backing the rebels. After the emergence of ISIS America somewhat changed sides and the stooge allies followed. The problem now is neither the stooge Arab allies nor America and its western allies know who they're fighting for.

The 2003 Iraq bombing and invasion was based on lies and nothing to do with helping the Iraqi people. You don't help people by bombing and occupying them imposing stooge sectarian puppet regimes on them. If Americas intentions were so honorable why were they supporting Saddam when he was gassing the Kurds in the 1988 massacre at Halabja? In 2003 when he wasn't doing anything suddenly America decides it must save the Iraqi people by killing them? America has a long history of this, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, drone strikes on various countries. America has military bases in Asia, South America, the Middle East, Europe. Yet you are complaining over Putin taking Crimea back? Putins actions pail into insignificance compared to American imperialist actions around the world.

On the one hand you complain about Russian imperialism and on the other hand you try to justify it when it's the west doing it?

America doesn't mind Middle Eastern dictators as long as they behave like stooges. Mubarak in Egypt and the Saudi Royal family to name a few. They only seem to have a problem when the dictator goes against American interests in the region.

The beheading's of foreign nationals by IS started after America and other countries decided to start bombing in Syria and Iraq. Before that the fight was between the Asad regime Maliki regime and various rebel groups of which IS became the most prominent.

This intervention like previous interventions is only seeking to fuel the flames of conflict rather than extinguishing them.

Better Us military bases than Russian any day. The bases are there at the will of the host governments by the way in case you haven't noticed.

So you go as far as attempting to justify the beheading of foreign nationals do you?

Well at least Jihad Johnny has been identified. The hooded yellow belly with the big knife Mohammed Amwazi is now prime meat for the SAS I hope.

Maybe they should try to lure him back to London. String his mom or dad up by their thumbs and video it. I would be quite happy to do a neck job on him with a rusty pen knife. I wouldn't charge nowt for it either :D

Another Putin critic killed off:

Prominent Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov has been shot dead in Moscow, according to reports.

Nemtsov, a former Kremlin insider and a sharp critic of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, was reportedly shot four times in the chest by a killer who escaped in a white car. The killing took place late on Friday evening in the centre of Moscow, near St Basil’s Cathedral and the Kremlin.

Nemtsov, 55, was deputy prime minister during the 1990s in the government of Boris Yeltsin. He had written a number of reports in recent years linking Putin and his inner circle to corruption.

News agency Interfax confirmed Nemtsov’s death, while fellow opposition politician Ilya Yashin and the editor-in-chief of liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy also confirmed the news.

Just hours before his death, Nemtsov had appeared on Ekho Moskvy calling on Muscovites to attend an opposition march planned for Sunday.

The march against Putin’s government and the war in Ukraine was due to take place in a suburb of Moscow. One of the other organisers of the march, Alexei Navalny, was jailed for 15 days ahead of the march.

In recent years, the Kremlin has used petty harassment and court cases against opposition figures, but there has not been an assassination of a political figure in Moscow for a decade.

Russian news agencies reported that senior police officers were on the scene of the murder and a manhunt was under way for the killer

Putin when interviewed by the media was in an expansive mood.

"Hey you Comrades er er I mean guys I was with my lady friend that day near the Black Sea. I just don't know how some people seem to think I had anything to do with it.

I'm just a simple guy who only wants to finish his term then retire to the nearest golf course

Isolationists don't need a big military.

A big bad beast under the bed like Putin will unwittingly provide a bigger budget for Americas armed forces. Kerchingggggg!!!

I'm not sure I subscribe to that narrative but it's not unthinkable.

This guy could be the first victim of the newly formed 'ANTIMAIDAN'

http://www.vocativ.com/world/russia/anti-maidan-moscow-rally/

Bikers, Fighters And Veterans To Join Moscow Anti-Maidan Rally

Newly formed "Anti-Maidan" group to rally 10,000 for the defense of their homeland

What do a group of Moscow-based bikers, a female mixed martial arts champion, ultranationalist politicians and some veterans from the Soviet war in Afghanistan have in common?

Answer: They are all part of Anti-Maidan, a colorful new Russian “patriotic” movement, whose members vow to fight any “Western-financed” attempt to topple President Vladimir Putin.

Formed a little over a month ago, Anti-Maidan is rallying its supporters in central Moscow on Saturday for the first anniversary of the overthrow of Ukraine’s pro-Russian president, Viktor Yanukovych, by protesters based at Kiev’s Maidan opposition camp. Kremlin officials allege that the U.S. orchestrated the Maidan uprising, although no credible evidence has been presented to support this accusation. The slogan for the Anti-Maidan march in Moscow, which is expected to draw a crowd of at least 10,000, is “We won’t forgive, we won’t forget.”

“We will not allow the destruction of our state,” said Alexander Zaldostanov, aka Surgeon, the tattooed, leather-clad leader of the Night Wolves motorbike gang, at a recent Anti-Maidan news conference in Moscow.

Zaldostanov frequently appears in photographs with Putin, and the Kremlin has honored him for his “patriotic” work. The Night Wolves also put on an eye-catching biker show in Crimea after its annexation by Russia last year, depicting the Maidan protesters as Nazis.

“The only thing that will force the fifth column to stop is fear,” added Zaldostanov. The “fifth column” is the term used by pro-Kremlin media and activists for opposition figures and journalists. Putin has echoed the sentiment and called opponents of his long rule “national traitors.”

Anti-Maidan members also include Dmitry Sablin, an ex-lawmaker from Putin’s ruling United Russia party who is now a senator in Russia’s upper house of parliament. Despite this, the group says it receives no funding or support from the government. However, state-run media outlets have publicized its activities, and a Kremlin-run news agency hosted its debut news conference last month, signs that Anti-Maidan has—at the very least—the backing of the authorities.

The group remains a loose alliance of pro-Putin figures and organizations, but has already been in action. Its members were involved in violent clashes with opposition protesters at an anti-Putin rally in central Moscow just after the new year.

Around 20 members of the movement, wearing the black-and-orange ribbons that have become the symbol of the pro-Russian rebels in east Ukraine, also attacked opposition activists as they gathered at a café in central Moscow in mid-January.

“They burst in shouting slogans and began pushing people around,” said Andrey Bystrov, a member of the unregistered December 5 opposition party. “We called the police, but they didn’t turn up for around 30 minutes.” No charges were brought against the Anti-Maidan activists over the attack.

Yulia Bereznikova, the Russian mixed martial arts champion, has also expressed her readiness to “take up weapons” to defend Russia from what Zaldostanov calls the “orange beast,” a reference to the so-called “Color Revolutions” that swept the former Soviet Union in the 2000s.

Much of the “muscle” for Anti-Maidan is supplied by members of the National Liberation Movement (NOD), a pro-Kremlin organization whose slogan is “The Motherland! Freedom! Putin!” NOD’s leader, United Russia lawmaker Yevgeny Fyodorov, told Vocativ recently that while he did not approve of violent attacks on opposition figures, he “understood” them. Fyodorov, one of the founding members of United Russia, believes “U.S. agents of influence” secretly control the Russian government and media.

State-run media outlets have promoted Saturday’s Anti-Maidan rally, which is set to conclude a short distance from Red Square. Opposition critics are claiming that government employees and students are being forced to attend the rally to boost the numbers. Documents published online, including a mass mail-out to Moscow teachers “requesting” their attendance, appear to back up these claims.

“The plan was to get people together in support of an idea,” opposition figurehead Alexei Navalny wrote on Wednesday. “But it’s clear the experiment was a failure.” Faced with the prospect of “200 bikers” at the march, the authorities fell back on the “usual” plan of pressuring teachers, students and so on to attend, alleged Navalny, who was jailed again for 15 days on Thursday for handing out anti-government leaflets.

Online, Anti-Maidan supporters maligned the lack of “activity” ahead of the group’s maiden march. “There aren’t so many active people around,” wrote one Anti-Maidan supporter named Boris Akimenko. “But this event is serious!”

Despite the distinct lack of buzz around the event, there are true believers. “I’m going on Saturday, for sure,” said Denis Titov, a 43-year-old Moscow lawyer. “True patriots need to stand up and be counted. And I’m ready to do that.”
