A long time ago on Sheffield forum we posted a survey to ask the lovely people of Sheffield (and others of course) if they would like to take part in some of our specialist crafts delivered by our master crafts people. If you know about Freeman college and Fusion café then you may have a flavour of what we deliver for young people in our specialist environment. Our workshops are second to none and our crafts people are highly trained expert craftsmen and teachers.

We are now in a position to start to share with people more widely our expertise and skills through our newly established adult training centre.

Please would you take a minute to tell us what you would particularly enjoy doing.

We will be planning to hold summers schools, evening and weekend workshops, week blocks and if you could drop us a reply on this thread we can also begin to work out when best suits you all.

please see our website for the work we do and perhaps call into our social enterprise café (fusion café) for a coffee, cake or some of our biodynamic cooked food, grown at our farm 6 miles away.

At the end of February we will offer 1 free session of someone's chosen craft to a person selected at random, by the technical method of us drawing your user name out of a hat, from people who have posted on this thread expressing interest in the courses.

Good Luck!

What an absolutely marvellous idea.

I wish Sheffield council would sponsor apprenticeships for people to learn the skills of Stan Shaw or other Little Mester craftsmen.

Some great ideas for courses on here - It would be great to be able to do something different on an evening! Particularly intrigued by copper forging and spinning!

As for when would be best? Evenings or weekends for me without a shadow of a doubt - there are quite a few adult courses around but a lot assume that people are able to make it in the day!

It's great to see the interest and the emerging view of which crafts are popular folks!

I would love to learn silver jewellery making. I work right next to you too. I love the work you do.

I've only voted for a few, but I'd be quite interested in most of them! Even though I can already do some :)

+1 for the evening and weekends option (for the same reasons...).

Tomorrow is the day we choose at random a winner so place your votes. You need to be in it to win it.... as they say.
