Syriza to get majority in Greece.

Recommended Posts

They were ignored until they gave the "correct" answer and then never asked again :hihi:

You come across as a blinkered idiot who blindly supports this because of your own self interest

The EU is inherently undemocratic because its aim is to keep the germans from war not to represent the people of europe.

I could go on but you are a rabid eurotard and that wont change.

All the decisions are made away from public scrutiny by figures and institutions nobody knows about. Its an affront to democracy and im glad the founders of democracy gave them a huge fly in their ointment yesterday

Hows that euro price this morning? :hihi:

Again your ignorance is astonishing, quite apt that you accuse me of being blinkered and a rabid eurotard when it is pretty obvious you simply do not know what you are talking about and are demonstrating that with each post you put up.

Both on the Nice and Lisbon treaties it was the second vote that made it through, in both cases it was the Irish government that held the referendum again.

None of the EU decisions are made away from public scrutiny, in fact, you can follow precisely what is going on at all times through the countless excellent internet services, a far cry from what our government here offers, the fact that British media do not report on it is their problem, not that of the EU. The fact that you choose to interpret that lack of reporting as a lack of public scrutiny however is your problem.

Keep calling me whatever you like, every time you do, you look dumber.

So the far-left winning party has formed a coalition with the right Greek Independents.

Looks like they've joined over the common ground of being anti-bailout.

There isn't a lot to check when all the accounts you get are saying something different than the reality, but you are right, it deserves an inquiry.

I challenge you to explain how the British system is more democratic than the EU system, you can't, but try it anyway just because you called my analogy facetious.

Germany didn't go to Greece and say: Here, have some money, we will have your rights, it went to Greece and said: Here, have a lot of money, but we expect you to do X, Y and Z to make sure you can have a long term future.

If they were 'imperialist' they would have never allowed these early elections, instead putting boots on Greek soil, or, as Queen Victoria used to do, bring the gunboats over.

It is pretty clear from your reply that you are of the opinion that the sensationalist headlines are more valid than reason, so again, I ask you to explain how the British system is more democratic than the EU system, in an attempt to get some actual reasoning behind your claims.

No they went to Greece and said we'll lend you your own money we owe you for WW2 reparations, and bankrupt you if you don't give it back.

Nice hollow claim. Back it up with some figures and sources Retep, or is the fact that Germany paid no monetary reputations after World War 2 enough to shut you up?

The EU is undemocratic though. France and the Netherlands voted against the EU Constitution. Amazingly, as they were both held to be massively pro-EU. So what happened was that the EU constitution was dropped, but then just cut-and-pasted into the Lisbon Treaty.

The European Project is for ever greater political and financial union, and that's that.

The problem the UK has with the EU is imo that our politicians have never told us the truth about it. We have been lied to since day one. Not the fault of the EU, but of our own politicians.

It's going on even today, with the pretence that the English "regions" have somehow nothing to do with the EU, that it's all a UK thing. Not true.

There may be a debate to be had about a "Europe of the Regions" and the abolition of the nation state, but in this country we will never have an honest debate about it.

Our politicians have lied to us for fifty odd years about Europe, they aren't about to start being honest with us now.

Wrong, Germany paid but their contributions were reduced substantially which enabled them to become the modern rich Germany they now are. Maybe Germany could now do the same and "forgive" Greece's debts.

Greece has a very real and current military threat in the shape of Turkey. And now they have found oil and gas in the eastern med, something to fight about!

First job of the government; are they going to replace the F16(s) that sadly crashed in Spain this afternoon. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30991950

10 people dead, 13 others injured.

Greece, along with Turkey, are interesting basketcases.

You see, unlike most countries that hate each other, both nations purchase military hardware from the USA. Usually, in such a conflict, one side purchases weapons from the Yanks, while the other gets them from the Russkies.

Let's see how smoothly relations with Turkey go, now Greece has a new Left Wing and Right Wing government.

I just made a joke, ho ho... wings, turkey

Why hasn't the UK got a far left party that could get a few seats in parliment? Have we even got a left wing party - labour aren't one any more. Lib dems? Greens? Considering some posters here think we're only days away from revolution and/or pitchforks you'd have thought a party would have sprung up.

Is it because we aren't that stupid, or not that brave? Or both!

The problem is, as I see it, the UK media is controlled by right-wing interests such as Rupert Murdoch or UKIP's wealthy backers, or allegedly "public" organisations like the BBC who daren't risk cutting off their cash supply (the licence fee) by upsetting the establishment.

There are far left parties, such as the Greens, Respect and a few other Socialist / Up the Workers parties that shove a leaflet through my door every election time, but they never get the same oxygen of publicity that the established or better funded parties do.

So sadly, we're both stupid and not that brave!

Because we have been conditioned over many years into thinking that voting outside the mainstream is somehow vaguely indecent and eccentric.

This is changing now though, thank the lord.

I do admire the French for this; if they want to vote for Le Pen on the Right or Melanchon on the left, they do.
