Minimo   59 #25 Posted February 15, 2015 Are your doctors aware of the problem. There may be an alternative therapy. Or perhaps you could take sedatives before an injection. You really must talk to them as things will only get worse.
 Share this content via...
tomlynam   10 #26 Posted March 12, 2015 Hi Snowflake,  the NHS won't pay for hypnosis, although depending on the character and open mindedness of your doctor, they may be able to refer you to someone who practises good quality hypnotherapy. It can be very effective in treating phobias and most definitely worth investigating considering your health issues. Interesting that the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, who make recommendations to the NHS, have found hypnotherapy to be effective in treating IBS in evidence based trials, so who knows, give it a few years and you may able to get a prescription...possibly. There are several good hypnotherapists in Sheffield, just check their reviews and get a feel for their professionalism before giving them a call and quizzing them about their knowledge and experience in treating phobias.  Good luck,  Tom. The Joker   10 #27 Posted March 12, 2015 Perhaps you should think about paying for it yourself instead of getting the rest of us to pay for it.  As long as she remembers to thank the taxpayers that keep the NHS running, we don't mind her benefiting from the service. HypnoReiki   10 #28 Posted January 4, 2016 I've had a few GP referrals for IBS as Tom mentioned (it's had success in clinical trials so is endorsed now) BUT Westfield private health packages can cover hypnotherapy - so quiz your employer if there are health packages you can sign up to at a discount rate! Then choose a qualified and friendly hypnotherapy service and enjoy change! Hope this helps!
 Share this content via...
