Can you be a member of 2 political parties?

You only have one vote, but I don't think there is any party that precludes membership on the grounds of someone being a member of another party, if they do they are fouling their own bread.

 

You can't join Labour or the Tories if you are a member of another party.

 

I don't know the rules for the minor parties, but I expect that it is the same.

Fairly obvious, really. Political parties compete against each other and (in theory anyway) have policies opposed to those of other parties. Anyone known to be in two parties would hardly be trusted. Which one would they prefer? Which one would they vote for? Are they more actively committed to one party than the other? Would they leaflet and canvass a road for one party and the next day for the other? Can they be trusted not to divulge internal secrets to the other?

We're not far off, look at how quickly London has become a police state and the 1000's of people been arrested for silly 'crimes' such as calling a police horse gay.

 

there is different degrees of fascism. The definition of fascism is - "a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control" Which is a accurate description of the EU.

Do you have to prefer one political party over the other? Why not just support them on the policies you believe in? How can any person in a political party be trusted? And why worry about secrets, to engage the electorate don't you think party policies donations etc should be transparent?

Nowhere near a fascist state. Travelled for weeks across Europe without once being asked for ID.

 

You really are insulting the huge numbers of people who died fighting fascism by comparing Europe of today to the 30's and 40's - or even the Iberian regimes into the 70's or Greece under the colonels.

Nationalism is a contingent part of fascism. Therefore an entity that undermines nationhood can't be called fascist.

 

Dictatorial and fascism are not synonymous.

The fascists actually lost WW2 and so weren't in much of a position to found anything. The EU also has a European Parliament. There were elections to it last year which attracted a lot of publicity. Maybe you missed what was going on.

Voting for eurocrats is not democratic. The EU is a dictatorship. Power is too centralised and unaccountable.
