How do we solve the Blades problem?

Recommended Posts

owls were getting run ragged at the back and had no answer for Citys class passing skills.

That shot by THE REVELATION at about the 8 1/2 minute mark :hihi::hihi:

Your goalie at the end , why did he even bother to go up , he ran up stopped and then it was like something out of the Keystone Kops.

Think it was nil shots on target first half for city, and four shots second half.( ok two of em were goals) but being run ragged kept the big spending hot shots pretty quiet.:(

We were run ragged from half time to their equaliser then last 10 minutes, though they had a lot of possession it was quite even besides that.

The commentator said their first goal was their first shot on goal.

We all know we're beating all the PL and championship sides at the moment, but don't seem to be beating the lessor clubs. We all know the reason. PL clubs come out to play us and then get spanked. L1 clubs are scared to death of us, hence do the opposite.

So, what specifically do we do. What would you do if you were NC?

League 1 world beaters lol :hihi::loopy:

Only a blade would !

That's what class teams do, one shot, one goal, quality.

You have to remember Jon that you are a league one club for a reason, nobody can knock United's achievements in the cup,but to think your style of football is better suited to premiership /championship clubs is a bit daft.I would put your cup success down to a better attitude and desire to win versus a poor attitude and desire from the premiership teams, that's not taking anything away from united but saying the poorer teams raise there game shouldn't be used as an excuse to drop so many points to them.

And in order to come to that considered conclusion you have watched us play live exactly how many times?

It's good to see our rivals take such a keen interest in our tactics and style of play, I cannot claim that it is reciprocated in my own particular case.

Until I saw the goals from your game against City I had got it into my head that Niuhu (sic) was a big black African lad, no idea why, turns out he's a white Austrian, who knew?

As someone who does use his season card/ticket on a regular basis my view, for what it's worth, is as follows.

Nigel Clough has a philosophy when it comes to the game of football, no doubt partly inherited from his dad.

He believes in the game being played mainly on the deck, ball retention and signing technically sound players.

The problem is that we have a lot of similar players in terms of being skilful but lacking strength and height.

A comment from a QPR fan after the match made me smile " Clough out thought Arry tactically by playing a lot of small nippy players who could run through our defence. "

Little did he know, that's just about all we've got! :)

Just about every team we play in this division is bigger and stronger man for man.

Very disappointed about O' Grady being recalled, he was different in exactly the way we wanted, strong, a good line leader ,and able to hold up the ball and bring others into play.

Unless Higdon suddenly gets some form we need to bring a similar type of player in.

I don't need to watch you at all to come to that conclusion, the giant killing act has been going on for years, and it is nearly always a result of the lower club lifting there game and having a better attitude than there opponents.

Exactly, more desire to win and maybe playing with no pressure as in these situations we know they don't fair well !

No but the delusion is :hihi:

What is meant by 'all'? All the clubs in the PL and Championship - because if it is then it's wrong - you've only played a handful - and generally poor ones at that. Or all the PL and Championship clubs you've played in the last couple of years - because if it is, then someone seems to have forgotten Hull.

You've done well for a small lower league club, but keep it in proportion or it looks silly.

i keep trying to tell em all that and keep getting shot down, wait till they come up against real PL opposition, still love for em to get Man City in the cup, see how they fare against THE CHAMPIONS
