Kindrex   10 #1 Posted January 4, 2015 Hi  My poor moggies have been having flea issues regularly. We use Frontline religiously but no joy and I've seen increasing reports online of it not working for a while now.  Can someone please give me some advice about how we can effectively deal with this problem? If anyone can recommend a better brand also.  A friend at work suggested Advantage?  Thanks in advance  K
 Share this content via...
andrejuan   10 #2 Posted January 4, 2015 Are you treating the house and bedding? Otherwise the cat will keep picking them up as fast as you get rid of them.
 Share this content via...
Kindrex   10 #3 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) We haven't been to be honest but will do what is required to get rid of them.  Can you recommend a spray/regime  K Edited January 5, 2015 by angel22 Removing masked swearing
 Share this content via...
andrejuan   10 #4 Posted January 4, 2015 Most brands will work. If you already have Frontline stick with it, but treat the house, carpets, and bedding (in fact anywhere the cat has been) with a suitable spray or powder.
 Share this content via...

andrejuan   10 #6 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) I always think you can't go wrong with Johnsons, not expensive and does the job.  http://www.johnsons-vet.com/4fleas.php Edited January 4, 2015 by andrejuan
 Share this content via...
midgecat   10 #7 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) I'd suggest you get the spray for the house from your vet ..... its not cheap but it works! Edited January 4, 2015 by midgecat
 Share this content via...
neeeeeeeeeek   10 #8 Posted January 4, 2015 Just stop using Frontline, it does not work any more. regardless of what some vets on here might tell you.  I was advised to use advantage, and its great, like frontline used to be.   http://www.animeddirect.co.uk/advantage-80-for-large-cats-and-pet-rabbits-410kg-pack-of-4-pipettes.html  Some vets sell it at inflated prices, but just order from them, you just need to fill in a form about your cat, you don't need anything from the vet. denlin   12 #10 Posted January 4, 2015 Johnsons is rubbish. i once used that on my cat and she started frothing at the mouth. I use frontline on her but my other cat is under vet and he's on advocate. You can buy frontline at places like Morrisons Chemists and Boots
 Share this content via...

midgecat   10 #12 Posted January 4, 2015 The spray should work to deflea the house Kindrex ..... and the last stuff I got they said it would stay in the carpets (don't ask me how) and protect from reinfestation for up to a year.
