No 30 bus no show!!

I'm disabled & I'm a bus driver (not on 30's tho) .... its not always the actual road conditions that cause cancellations , there are reports of further snow , the temp is below freezing point thus making it hazardous for all vehicles which then get left & abandoned which makes the roads impassable for buses ... someone has to make a decision whether they run all / part / amended route or pull them all together ...... its not commercially viable just to pull them if its safe to run them - however & wherever they reroute them

I don't know where he waited for the bus but I do know that the 52 did the Stagecoach route and went via Furnace Lane. Perhaps the 30 route was altered to avoid Beaver Hill Road or some other bad road.

im so angry as yet again the no 30 bus as not turned up when it should have at handsworth & my son has got to walk all the way to beighton to get home at this time,the same happened yesterday too, as anyone else had any problems with this service

 

Roads are dangerous. If the bus companies put buses out it puts everyone on the road at risk. Plus it could get stuck.

my sons a bad asthmatic he was in a state when he gt home yest so yes you cn maybe appreciate why im angry wondering what he will be like when he gets in today people should think before replying their thoughts

The issue you have is with the bus company. Take it up with them but they will quote the weather in return. Considering the snow was forecast you should have made plans to keep warm and not rely on public transport, especially when the news this morning was showing all the abandoned cars in Sheffield.

 

There was a lady in Glasgow who stepped to one side to a cash point and moments later a bin lorry killed both her parents and daughter. I appreciate you may gave problems but lets put it all into perspective.

Are hardly surprised that the bus has been delayed of even not running in this weather and same for yesterday, although yesterday it did clearly state online that the 30 wasn't running so maybe a quick check and YOU would have prevented him being out in the cold for no reason. Again tonight a quick check online shows that the 30 earlier was travelling a revised route and not going any further then Handsworth top. So information is clearly available for those that wish to get it

Check on travel south Yorkshire and was on there since 5 pm that the 30 isn't serving Handsworth. Looks like the op could have prevented this for a second night! Modern technology is great if people use it !!!

Yesterday was boxing day. Service 30 only scheduled to run Woodhouse-Crystal Peaks.

 

Today was snow/ice/abandoned cars, bus 30 diverted to run direct via Parkway bypassing Handsworth for safety reasons as advertised on the Travel South Yorkshire service updates and TM Travel's Facebook page.

 

In both cases the 52 still ran through Handsworth so despite the very difficult conditions Handsworth did still have buses.

 

Glad your son is OK, I would strongly suggest checking the travel news tomorrow before setting out.

i didnt post this to upset anyone yes i did check online & must have been looking at the wrong site as didnt see that they had stopped service at handsworth,we did get him a taxi from work in the end.
