J's Mum   10 #1 Posted December 24, 2014 I've got 2 Jack Russels and a Rottie, the Jack Russels are mum & son. All of the dogs have been nutered. Mum jack Russell was originally my mums but she's now mine since mum passed away.  She has suddenly taken to attacking my rottie who's a boy and is 14yrs old. I've had to seperate them tonight as she wouldn't stop attacking him and she means it! The rottie wouldn't then stay away from her and kept coming back to her but apart from growling didn't attempt to bite.  Once parted and left to calm down everything is fine. Any advice appreciated. Rainrescue   10 #2 Posted December 25, 2014 In this scenario, I think you need professional help with it. She needs to respect you as being in charge whereas as we all know, Jack's think they are in charge regardless. It maybe that she will need to be crated and never left alone with your big lad as once she's decided to attack him, unless there is intervention, she will keep on going and will damage him badly - he could retaliate and kill her easily.  The sooner she's put back into her proper place, the better. I can recommend a behaviourist who is good and reasonable if you need one.
 Share this content via...
J's Mum   10 #3 Posted December 25, 2014 Hi, Thank you for your reply. I'd love the number please, she had another go today but I was stood right next to her so stopped it immediately.
 Share this content via...
Rainrescue   10 #4 Posted December 27, 2014 Thats actually the best action to do - stop it as the thought even starts to come into her head so she knows its not allowed or acceptable.  Here is Jamie's contact info - he comes and does work with us here at Rain Rescue and explains things well for people to sort out the problem themselves. We like how he works. Good luck, let us know how you get on, but again - always keep them separate if you not around from now on.
