Bi carbonate of soda kills the vitamin C found in all leafy vegetables.

I'm a vegetarian, made it my business to know.

Vitamin C isn't alive.

So you can't kill it.

Is it a similar thing to marmite I actually love the taste of marmite my wife on the other hand loves sprouts and hates marmite...cabbage don't get me on that one either I hate the stuff it makes me gag just looking at it..my Dad used to say that you need cabbage and sprouts in your diet he used to say it was good for me and I would have spots all over my face if I didn't eat my greens, but it still didn't taste any better and I never had any spots on my face ,:hihi:

I never liked sprouts as a kid. Now I think they're quite nice. The thing is my mum cooks them til they're mush which is why I never liked them. When we went to a restaurant, she was moaning that the sprouts were too hard and weren't cooked properly.

I love....even raw.

Tiny little cabbages.

Although they do give one the windy pops later!

I like all vegetables but sprouts are my favourite followed by steeped peas.

Sibon, I bow to your preferred knowledge.

Perhaps what I should have suggested was, the effect of vitamin C on one's health is diminished.

A lesson to all Forummers.

It isn't what you say, it's the way you say it.

A friend used to enjoy drinking the left-over cabbage/sprout water out of the saucepan!
