Children's homes or orphanages in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Will never know the storys of why some land up in Fullwood, but the Linsey's do stick in mind because a trio of such nice polite lads even at that early age remember thinking these are not from around here, and to land up with Millner in 3 untill 14 what a horror story:gag::gag:

Hiya flyer, Still sorting picture out regards them boys i mentioned

In meen time i send you this and compare it to the one i sent you

You can see the Superintendent house on the right, straight a head

is the water tower and on left at the back is the Assembly hall.

the two bunglows are where the Gardners had there allottment.

Hi Mazybaby, i am just curious what number house was

you in, i know times changed from when i was in their 1940/54.

The Orphanage closed in 1960 and the Children move across the

city Called Scattered Homes.

Then the place was opened as Girls approved School renamed

the ( Moorside )

---------

Finally in the early 1980s the Vietnamese Boat People were

housed there, then when that closed it was converted into

luxury Dwellings as it is today.

--------------

Send me a reply back and i'll send you a picture of the lay out.

Brian.

Does anybody have any information about orphanages within the Sheffield area, dating back over that last 100 years.

I am doing some private study and would be interested in any information.

Hi, I was the last girl to leave Moorside School in 1983 before it shut down has a girls residental home. Im also trying to find some of the girls who were there with me, also trying to get access to my files, but so far ive no luck .
