It's still coming down heavily and settling in Greenhill. Greenhill Primary and Greenhill Preschool are both open though. Greenhill never closes!

For everyone that hasn't got winter tyres, really invest in a pair of snow socks. We forgot we had some in the boot, but used them this morning and we sailed up our fairly steep hill where others couldn't even get a metre. Got up to the clear and gritted main road, pulled in a lay-by, whacked them off and whizzed off to work.

I've had a pair in the boot for the last 4 or 5 winters, but never needed to use them, yet.

Our estate has been ploughed and gritted. The journey from there to town was pretty much clear.

Service 81/82 - Now mostly back to normal. Buses will operate only on main roads in Stannington - Stannington Road direct to Nethergate. Buses will not currently serve Acorn Estate, Deer Park or Hall Park Head.

 

Service 84 - Amended to run Bents Green to Malin Bridge. Not serving Greystones, Wisewood or Loxley. Buses at Ecclesall & Bents Green will use a modified route of Ecclesall Road South, Bents Road & Knowle Avenue.

 

Service 85 - Running from Millhouses Tesco, but not able to serve Carterknowle Road - so operating direct via Abbeydale Road. Services to High Green are omitting Grenoside village (using Halifax Road) but then are back to normal in High Green.

 

Service 95 - Operating only City to Brook Hill roundabout.

 

Service 97/98 - Service operating largely normally, but 98 running to Totley terminus and omitting Totley Brook.

 

Service 120 - Operating revised route between Ranmoor Church, City and Crystal Peaks. Between City and Crystal Peaks, running normally to Occupation Lane top, then via Sheffield Road and Donetsk Way to Crystal Peaks - missing Birley Spa Lane.

I'm at Lodgemoor and I'd say we have 7-8 inches of snow at the moment.

Similar here. The cameras only cover the major roads which will have been gritted . If you live at the top of one of the 7 hills of Sheffield you will always cop it.

I've got to set off for my shift at NGH soon and not relishing the drive not to mention what I will face when my shift has finished.
