It would be better to remove the battery and power down the alarm if you don't use it . Worst case is the battery drys out and the control panel will get really hot

As they should be normally be replace every 5 years

My house alarm on two separate occasions has switched itself on, when it’s been off. It’s not one continuous ring, but a two tone one. I then have to switch it off. Any ideas what the matter could be ?

Thanks for that information. Did you have to have your burglar alarm man in to fix it ?

No I traced which sensor it was as it flashed on display zone X and replaced that sensor. All good after that

Hi I have a Veritas burglar alarm and one of the zones keeps making it go off. I put the code in and press unset and the green light comes on but when I walk back into the room the alarm goes off again, anyone know what I have done and how to reset it

Thanks

Does it chime or set off the alarm ? Have you tried to program the system yourself ? Or have you changed the sensor / taken it down for decorating?

I have a good house alarm on the outside of my house, and the box which runs it is inside the house. Tonight it started making a two toned bleep every few seconds, while I was watching tv, even though it wasn’t switched on. I switched the alarm off with the remote control , and the bleeping stopped. Does this mean that a battery needs replacing ? Any remote control house alarm specialists out there ?
