Lenovo laptop advice

looking at buying a laptop in the next couple of weeks had my eye on a lenovo something like a g505 8gb ram model

 

anyone got any constructive pros and cons they care to share?

I have the G505 and find it extremely good, i run it alongside a Toshiba of similar standard and find it the better of the two.

But then again i am just a normal user not a techie.

I haven't got a Lenovo laptop but I do have a tablet.

 

Product is good but UK Support is the worst I have ever experienced.

 

They outsource to a third party who struggle with everything.

I do use Dell laptops for 5years now. It works fine for me. Even if I upgrade, I would stick to Dell

hmm i've read elsewhere about wifi drop out, however john lewis customers are reviewing it based on £400, i have seen it for just under £290....

 

i also know someone with the model and has had not one issue so am very unsure..

have a very very old dell inspiron but is single core win xp generation!

 

could you recommend a current dell model? doesn't need a top market cpu or gfx as its just for net and microsoft office sort of programs not COD or owt daft

Hi Yes

I have tried a number of Lenovo laptops. notebooks. and tablets.

They all are on the slow side. Feel cheap. And don't seem to hold the wifi.

Lucky aim a Qvc customer and have returned them no hassle

 

I have used Dell for many years and you cant go wrong with a Dell

Lenovo laptops are very good in general, I don't see them coming to my repair shop, apart from the ones with cracked screen etc, caused by an accidental damage as such... So yes, they are very good built laptops.

i've got a lenovo g500 from john lewis for £200 with a 1TB HD. It's brilliant! Was really worried about performance based on the price but thought i'd give it a go - don't regret it for a second!

Make sure it does not have the same touch pad as the new t440. They are horrible!

a couple of years ago I bought a Lenovo from John Lewis on line------it locked me out so I could not access it----I got in touch with their helpline but they would not help me unless I bought an extended warranty (best part of £100) ----- I took it to Coles and they refunded me my money----great service from Coles ---but beware of Lenovo
