More USB 3.0 help

Recommended Posts

I got a USB 3 pci express card and have installed it onto my motherboard. When I turn on my PC the device manager says there is a problem with a USB port. The Driver disk that came with the card has lots of drivers for other models so not sure which one to use. I am using Windows 7 and really cannot work this one out. This is the card that I bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261534621722?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Have you tried:

from the device manager,

right-click the problem device,

Select update driver

From the displayed dialog navigate to the cd or auto update online

Thats my best shot unless you have a manufacturer and part number of the board.

The chipset mentioned on your ebay link mentions "NEC Chipset Renesas D720201"

Try the download link on this Yahoo answer :

Don't forget to fit the extra power cable between USB 3.0 card and PC power supply as it'll need that to provide the juice for USB 3.0 devices.

Go to Intel's download center and get their USB 3.0 driver. They took over the NEC chipset as far as I'm aware.
